Happy, Healthy Baby Boomers!
Is 60 the new 30? Many "baby boomers" believe this is so!
Times have changed and "senior life" is simply not what it used to be. Thirty years ago, 60 was the beginning of "old age." Now, people over 60 refuse to be left behind. In fact, now more than ever, seniors (that's people over 60) are "with it"!
Today, seniors are active and enjoy exercise. They're following the advances in medicine, and they're watching what they eat. Seniors enjoy sports, traveling, dating (if they're single), and many of them have several hobbies. Compared to past generations, baby boomers and older senior citizens are more vital and vibrant about life. And they're living it to the fullest.
What's the difference from past generations?
Today's seniors have a strong, healthy attitude and a rewarding, fulfilling personal life. Both are important to today's seniors. If they have physical challenges or they're interested in "anti-aging secrets," they search out the information and they're not afraid to try new techniques.
In fact, if you're part the "new seniors" and you're reading this, you're part of what I described in the previous paragraph. I'll bet your parents didn't do research on the internet!
Here's the good part: As we all reach that comfortable stage in our lives, many of the issues that face younger adults aren't as significant as they used to be. Career, raising a family, and financial security are not as prominent. This is all leading baby boomers to be more casual, more flexible, and less stressful. Baby boomers (and beyond) have been there and done that. Life experiences have helped them realize that the simpler things in life and having someone to share them with are more important than money, status, and outside beauty.
So, just what is a baby boomer?
Well, there are many definitions. On this site, we define the term "baby boomer" as the generation of Americans who were born in the "baby boom" following World War II. The Baby Boomers were born between 1946 and 1964.
